![]() Cute baby girl rompers. Thats what I've been obsessing over since my daughter was born. Nursing offers a lot of time to browse Instagram and discover a million and ten things you just have to have. Some amazing shops to check out are Buck and Baa @buckandbaa, Myrtle Mac @myrtlemac, or Love Izzi @Loveizzishop. Somehow, every romper that I just had to have was made in Australia or New Zealand, cost at least $80 or shipping cost more than the romper. As a current business student I couldn't help but think I had discovered a niche that I could tap into. I just wanted to be able to get these Ausie style rompers here in Hawaii. I'll just have to make it happen myself! But as a full time student and taking care of my new baby girl, I didn't have time to sew every romper. While I won't give all my secrets away, I'd like to share a little tutorial of how I create my baby girl rompers. I called my shop Stella Sun Baby (no longer available) after my daughter's middle name, Stella, and because I have a thing for alliterative phrases. (My Ballerina Birdies book began with that title phrase!) Each romper is hand dyed using a shadow printing process under the Hawaiian Sun. This magical dye develops with the help of the sun's UV rays. When it develops, it stains the fabric. Once a desired image is made I wash out the dye so that only the stain remains. I have to wash it really well so that there isn't any residual dye that will continue to develop darker when worn in the sun. The remaining stain is nothing more than that, and is completely safe to be worn. This process takes about all the time I can get away from my little one, which is why I needed to find a manufacturer to actually sew the rompers for me. I made sure they were designed after the rompers I fell in love with on Instagram from Australia and New Zealand shops. Ruffle Sleeves that crisscross in the back and tie. Snaps on the bottom for easy diaper change! So now there are cute baby girl rompers made and shipped from Hawaii! I hope I'm not the only one that is obsessed with this style. Please visit & follow @StellaSunBaby on Instagram and consider a one-of-a-kind hand made romper from Hawaii as a gift for the cute baby girls in your life!
